writing

Hello, world

· #meta #writing

I’ve been meaning to start writing publicly for a long time. The usual excuses applied: not the right time, no clear angle, too much to set up first. This post is me getting out of my own way.

What this site is

A home for three things:

  1. Notes on AI systems I’m building. Not tutorials. Closer to working notes: design choices I’m making at PS Hummingbird, mistakes I’m walking back from, evaluations that surprised me.
  2. Research threads. My PhD work is in Vector Symbolic Architectures (VSA), and that part of my brain is still very much active. I’ll occasionally share reflections on my more recent work extending the original Graph Vector Function Architecture, particularly how VSA can be applied to different graph-based representations.
  3. Process posts. How I run multi-agent workflows in production. How I think about evals. How I keep a system honest after it ships.

What it isn’t

It’s not a publication. I’m not optimising for SEO or audience growth. I will be wrong in public sometimes. That’s the point. If you read something here that’s off, tell me.

What’s next

Two posts I owe this site already:

  • Agentic AI: the gap between a POC and production. What it actually takes to ship one.
  • Evals as a design tool, not a checkbox. The eval framework I keep reaching for.

See you in the next one.
